After learning about the wonderful world of naked mole-rats, I was compelled to explore scientific research. I completed my undergraduate studies with Dr. Thomas Park investigating if the unique metabolic system of these rodents played a role in their hypoxic resilience. This past year, I worked with Dr. Laurent Coscoy at UC Berkeley studying the immune evasive mechanisms of murine cytomegalovirus. Now in the Okada lab, I'm utilizing and building upon my knowledge in both neuroscience and immunology to dissect the microenvironment of glioblastomas in hopes of contributing towards the development of novel brain tumor immunotherapies.
My interests outside of the lab include crafting, cooking, and having picnics in parks.
