Visiting Scholar

Alice Senta Ryba, MD, Dr. med., is a short-term postdoctoral fellow from University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE), Germany. She is currently a PGY-5 resident in Neurosurgery and clinician-scientist in the Laboratory of Tumor Biology within the CNS Tumor Immunology group led by PD Dr. Malte Mohme.
Her research focuses on immune escape mechanisms in glioblastoma and other central nervous system malignancies. In particular, she investigates tumor–immune interactions, systemic and local T cell dysfunction, and strategies to restore effective anti-tumor immunity. Her work integrates immune phenotyping of tumor-specific T cell responses (flow cytometry, RNA sequencing), high-dimensional plasma proteomics and epigenetic modulation of T cells (ATAC-seq) to characterize tumor-induced immunosuppression and identify potential therapeutic targets.
At UCSF, she is expanding her work in translational tumor immunology with a focus on advancing immune-based therapies for brain tumors.
