Gary Kwan Leung Chan

Graduate Student (BMS program)

I am a graduate student at UCSF in the Biomedical Science program. In my previous research positions, I helped characterizing the functions and localization of human cytomegalovirus viral proteins, studied the formation and effects of apolipoprotein AI amyloid, and most recently, worked in Gordan Lab at UCSF to uncover potential drug targets for fibrolamellar carcinoma (FLC) and to test if existed drugs can be repurposed as potential treatment for FLC.

Currently, in the setting of glioblastoma, I am interested in studying the roles of transcriptional factors in the epigenomes of CD8+ T-cells, as well as the sources of neoantigens that lead to T cell-tumor cell interactions.
