Naoya Kemmotsu, MD, PhD
Dr. Naoya Kemmotsu is a Japanese neurosurgeon and currently serves as a Postdoctoral Scholar in the laboratory of Dr. Hideho Okada at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).
As a neurosurgeon, Dr. Kemmotsu has extensive clinical experience in the treatment of patients with malignant brain tumors. He earned his Ph.D. from Okayama University, where his research focused on brain metastases and immune checkpoint inhibitors. He also conducted research on the abscopal effect induced by hydrogen peroxide.
Through his clinical experience in neuro-oncology, Dr. Kemmotsu recognized the urgent need to develop innovative therapeutic strategies beyond conventional treatments. This motivation led him to join the Okada Laboratory, where he is pursuing research on next-generation immunotherapies for brain tumors.
